Discovery

Understanding the problem

Smartphones are expensive, and many people in Mexico live paycheck to paycheck. At the same time, having a phone has become a necessity—for communication, banking, work, and even transportation. Celuflex’s challenge was to make phones financially accessible while operating as a small company with limited resources.

step 2

Research

Diving deep into user needs

Conducted a competitive analysis and white paper research to understand how users currently solve this problem.

Key Insights

91.21%
of the global population uses a mobile phone.
19.3 million
people in Mexico are credit users.

Mexicans use some sort of financing for their purchases.
step 3

Ideation

Exploring solutions

After better understanding the problem, users and business needs, it was time to generate innovative solutions for identified problems.

Design Insights

Since refurbished phones carry a stigma of being “second-hand,” the website needed to clearly communicate value and build trust.
Celuflex sets itself apart by focusing on affordable refurbished models and direct communication with clients.
The company was already selling phones via Google Forms, so speed of launch and ease of updates were critical.
step 4

Final Design

Crafting the experience

I designed a simple, easy-to-understand website that aligns both with user needs and business constraints:

Key Insights

A streamlined interface where customers can quickly see available models and understand the process to purchase via WhatsApp.
Instead of manually updating phone catalogs, the website connects to a Google Sheets API. This allows the team to add or remove models in seconds, keeping the site current without requiring technical knowledge.
Prioritized essential pages and functionality so the site could go live quickly, supporting the business while it scaled.
step 5

Post-launch

Evaluating the project and learnings

Analyzed site performance post-launch to validate design decisions and identify improvement areas.

What I would do differently next time

Working on Celuflex pushed me to step outside my comfort zone as a designer and take full ownership of the website’s development. Since the client needed a fast and scalable solution, I had to learn and apply new tools—such as integrating a Google Sheets API to dynamically load products—while also managing the design, structure, and implementation of the site.

This experience significantly strengthened my technical skills and versatility, giving me a deeper understanding of how design and development intersect.

Beyond refining my ability to simplify complex user flows, the project taught me how to independently bring a digital product from concept to launch, a skillset I now carry into future projects.
